Getting started in the real estate industry is easy and can take as little as a month to become licensed. In order to get started you will first need to meet the licensing requirements to become a licensed real estate agent. Whether it is residential real estate or commercial real estate that you are interested in, both require that you meet the same set of requirements to become licensed. There are so many aspects to the real estate industry that virtually anyone can find a path that suites them best. Home Inspection, Residential Real Estate, Real Estate Development, Title Insurance, Property Management and Construction are all part s of the real restate industry in which one can get involved. A career in real estate is not only rewarding for you as an individual but you also get to share in the process of helping others achieve the “American Dream” of owning a home.
I’m not professing or holding myself out to be a police of TREC violations. I am offering some friendly reminders to my colleagues and customers whom I know always want to do the right thing but sometimes we need a refresher on the basic “do not do” list.

About 5% will be 85 and older which is up from less than 2% in the 1900’s. In a survey by Pew Research Center the question was posed, “how long do you want to live?” and the average response was 89 yrs. old.
Neo-Traditionals are the buyers of today. In fact they never stopped buying. They have continued to buy in a recessionary market because they’re looking for things that connect with them on a personal level. They believe they have the judgment and experience as entrepreneurs to find the best properties; best buys and that they are the best screeners to find their property. More than any generation these Neo-Traditionals are predominately boomers.
It is estimated that over 30 million Americans face the day to day activities which take place in their homes in a wheelchair or walker. Veterans coming home from the service of our country are faced with disabilities they have to deal with for the rest of their lives. Silents and Boomers want to “age in place” and have a home that is accessible and sustainable. The problem with finding a solution to remedy these issues was the houses that were designed in the past, prior to current plans, were ugly and expensive.

The Greater Houston Builder Association (GHBA) held it’s mid-year forecast luncheon with Mike Inselmann of Metrostudy presenting 2008 and 2009’s outlook of the housing markets in Texas. Metrostudy is a nationwide provider of real estate housing market information as well as related industries. Mr. Inselmann projects that 2009 we will see an increase in home starts and a move toward a progressive real estate market rebound. Where will this happen? Texas, of course...
It is apparent that in order to survive and thrive in the real estate industry today, real estate agents and real estate brokers must embrace every facet of technology and remain on top of the need to continually upgrade their systems. Beyond being necessary to our industry it is a melding with current societal standards.
